Bad Breath Solutions

Also known as Halitosis occurs either from systemic disease, kidney insufficiency, and starvation or due to the production of volatile compounds (sulphide or mercaptain) in the mouth. Bad breath is different to the common “oral malodour” which is most common in the morning and affects both adults and children. The presence of tooth decay, gum disease; or habits such as smoking and high consumption of coffee can produce oralmalodour or amplify the already existing bad-breath.

The prevention of bad-breath starts with a sound oral hygiene routine including frequent daily tooth and tongue brushing accompanied by the correct use of interdental cleaning devices (floss or proximal brushes) and occasional antiseptic mouthwashes.

A correct diagnosis will make its treatment more accurate especially when systemic conditions are involved.
