Gum disease is also known as periodontal disease. The main cause is bacteria from plaque and tartar that builds up under the gums and proceed deeper affecting the bone and tissues supporting the tooth.

The third molar is usually called “the wisdom tooth” and appears in the mouth in the late teens but it can appear any time after. They are often removed when there is no space in the mouth to avoid them from becoming impacted, infected or decayed.

These are removable appliances that replace missing teeth (partial denture) or all the teeth (full denture). They can be designed for both the top or bottom jaws.

Tooth extraction is when a tooth is removed from the mouth. The most common reasons for tooth extractions are heavily damaged teeth (broken down, decayed), a gum diseased affected tooth beyond treatment, a tooth with a root fracture, failed and non-retreatable root canal and before orthodontic treatment etc.
